One-on-one coaching

Group courses and group conference call sessions -- for those of you that want other parental support and to know that you are not alone. “Meet” other parents who are having similar struggles as you are.

 Psychotherapy Services

In addition to parenting coaching I offer online psychotherapy for parents in Georgia and Florida.

Becoming a parent has a way of bringing our issues to the surface. Whether it is the transition into parenthood that we struggle with, or our own issues that our children help bring to the forfront.

Mighty Oak Parenting offers therapy services to allow parents to explore their own challenges at a deeper level. These services are offered 100% online via video chat, in order to provide you with more convenience.

What is the difference between coaching and psychotherapy?

My parenting coaching services are designed to be goal and action oriented. Coaching services are designed to provide you with information and tools to manage various parenting challenges. Coaching has an emphasis on action, not process. Coaching tends to be shorter term and focused on the present.

Psychotherapy focuses more on process as well as past issues and patterns of thinking and behavior. Therapy can  focus on identifying, processing, and moving through current issues or on healing from unresolved past traumas, tragedies, or losses. Therapy focuses on experiences, emotions, thoughts, beliefs and ways of being in the world. In addition to processing thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and experiences it can include skills training for more effective management of emotions or relationship issues.

Please note that due to the nature of online counseling/therapy services and because I am only available during business hours I cannot accept clients who are in need of crisis counseling.

If you feel you are in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. It is a free, 24-hour hotline, at 1.800.273.TALK (8255). Your call will be connected to the crisis center nearest to you. If you are in an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
